Laylatul Qadr Dua with Urdu & English Translation

The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught a special dua for this sacred night, especially for seeking forgiveness and mercy. On this night, angels descend with peace and blessings, and Allah forgives countless believers.

اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ تُحِبُّ الْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّي

اے اللہ! بے شک تُو بہت معاف کرنے والا ہے، اور معافی کو پسند کرتا ہے، پس مجھے معاف فرما دے۔

O Allah! You are the Most Forgiving, and You love to forgive, so forgive me.

Narrated by Aisha (رضي الله عنها): She asked the Prophet ﷺ, “O Messenger of Allah! If I know which night is Laylatul Qadr, what should I say?” He replied:
“Say: Allahumma innaka ‘afuwwun tuhibbul ‘afwa fa‘fu ‘anni.”
When to Recite This Dua
- During the last ten nights of Ramadan, especially on the odd nights.
- After every Salah (prayer) in the last ten days.
- While doing Tahajjud (night prayer).
- In Sujood (prostration) while asking Allah for forgiveness.
- During I’tikaf or while sitting in remembrance of Allah.

Important Note
Laylatul Qadr is a golden event which comes only as soon as in a 12 months. Spend this night time in prayer, recitation of the Quran, dhikr and dua. Keep your coronary heart natural and your tongue moist with the remembrance of Allah. Recite Surah Al-Qadr, Surah Al-Ikhlas, Surah Al-Falak and Surah An-Nas with this dua.
