اَللّٰھُمَّ اغْفِرْلَهُ وَارْحَمْهُ وَعَافِهٖ وَاعْفُ عَنْهُ وَاَکْرِمْ نُزُلَهُ وَوَسِّعْ مَدْخَلَه ُوَاغْسِلْهُ بَالْمَاءِ وَالثَّلْجِ وَالْبَرَدِ وَنَقِّهٖ مِنَ الْخَطَایَا کَمَا نَقَّیْتَ الثَّوْبَ الْاَ بْیَضَ مِنَ َالدَّنَسِ وَاَبْدِلْهُ دَارًا خَیْرًا مِّنْ دَارِہٖ وَاَھْلاً خَیْرًا مِّنْ اَھْلِهٖ وَزَوْجًا خَیْرًا مِّنْ زَوْجِهٖ وَاَدْخِلْهُ الْجَنَّةَ وَاَعِذْہُ مِنْ عَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ وَمِنْ عَذَابِ النَّارِ

اے اللہ! اس کی بخش فرما اور اس پر رحم فرما اور اس سے در گزر کر کےاسے معاف فرما دےاور اس کی عمدہ مہمانی کر اوراس کے داخل ہونے کی جگہ کشادہ کر دے اور اسےپانی ،برف اور اولوں سے دھو ڈال اور اسے خطاؤں سے اس طرح صاف کردے جیسےسفید کپڑامیل کچیل سے صاف کیا جاتا ہےاور اسے اس کے اس گھر سےسے بہتر گھر اور اس کے گھر والوں سے بہتر گھر والے اور اس کے ساتھ سے بہتر ساتھ عطا فرما اور اسے جنت میں داخل فرما اور اسے عذاب قبر اور آگ کے عذاب سے بچا لے۔

Dua e Maghfirat in English

O Allah! Forgive him (the deceased) and have mercy upon him. And give him peace and pardon him, and grant him an honorable reception. And expand his entry point, and cleanse him with water, snow and hail and purify him of sin, as a white robe is purified of filth. And exchange his home for a better home, and his family for a better family, and his spouse for a better spouse. And admit him into paradise, and protect him from the punishment of the grave and the torment of the Fire.

Muslims believe that only Allah has the power to forgive sins and grant salvation.
