Shab-e-Barat, also known as the Night of Forgiveness, Among the most beautiful and powerful supplications for this night is the dua taught by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, seeking Allah’s mercy, forgiveness, and protection from His anger.

Shab-e-Barat Dua in Arabic
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِرِضَاكَ مِنْ سَخَطِكَ، وَبِمُعَافَاتِكَ مِنْ عُقُوبَتِكَ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْكَ، لَا أُحْصِي ثَنَاءً عَلَيْكَ، أَنْتَ كَمَا أَثْنَيْتَ عَلَى نَفْسِكَ
Urdu Translation
اے اللہ! میں تیری رضا میں پناہ مانگتا ہوں تیرے غضب سے، اور تیری عافیت میں پناہ مانگتا ہوں تیری سزا سے، اور تجھ ہی سے پناہ مانگتا ہوں، میں تیری تعریف کا حق ادا نہیں کر سکتا، تو ویسا ہی ہے جیسا تو نے خود اپنی تعریف فرمائی۔
English Translation
O Allah! I seek refuge in Your pleasure from Your anger, and in Your forgiveness from Your punishment. I seek refuge in You from Yourself. I cannot praise You enough; You are as You have praised Yourself.

Hadith Reference
This dua is narrated by Aisha (RA) in Sahih Muslim (Hadith No. 486):
The Prophet ﷺ used to recite this dua during his night prayers (Tahajjud), saying:
“O Allah! I seek refuge in Your pleasure from Your anger…” until the end of the supplication.
