Understanding Zakat: A Spiritual and Financial Duty
Zakat is one of the five pillars of Islam. It is a mandatory act of charity for every Muslim who has wealth above a certain limit (called Nisab). Zakat is not just a tax — it is a way to purify your wealth and help those who are less fortunate in our society. Our calculator makes it easy to find out how much Zakat you need to pay based on your current assets and debts.
How to Use This Zakat Calculator
- Enter Your Assets: Type in the amount of cash you have in hand or bank. Add the weight of your gold and silver jewelry (in tola or grams).
- Include Investments: If you have stocks, shares, crypto, or business merchandise, enter their current market value.
- Deduct Liabilities: Subtract any immediate debts, loans, or unpaid bills.
- Review Results: The tool will compare your net wealth with the Nisab threshold. If your wealth is above Nisab, it will calculate exactly 2.5% as your Zakat amount.
