The Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) has extended its outreach by enrolling an additional 100,000 women into its support program. According to BISP Chairperson Senator Rubina Khalid, this expansion has raised the total number of female beneficiaries to 9.8 million as of June 2025, with each woman receiving quarterly financial assistance.

Updated Beneficiary Stats

  • Current Active Beneficiaries: 9.8 million women
  • Quarterly Assistance Amount: PKR 13,500 per recipient

This latest increase highlights the government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen social protection for low-income households in Pakistan.

Expansion Goals for 2025

Senator Rubina Khalid also confirmed that 200,000 more women will be included in the BISP program by the end of 2025, aiming to further relieve financial pressure on vulnerable families amidst economic challenges.

Skill Training for Sustainable Livelihoods

To complement financial aid, BISP has launched the Benazir Skills Programme, which offers vocational training to eligible family members of beneficiaries. This initiative is designed to promote self-reliance by encouraging income-generating skills and small business development.

Safe & Transparent Digital Payments

BISP is upgrading to a digital banking system in partnership with six major banks. Through biometric-verified bank accounts, recipients will receive their payments securely, reducing dependency on agents and ensuring dignified access to funds.
